Instructions
Crumb coat cake and chill for a few minutes. Cover the cake with a layer of white buttercream, ensuring it's smooth. Chill for a few minutes.
Create the marble tie dye effect with fondant:
Knead the white fondant until it becomes soft and pliable.
Add a drop of blue, pink, and purple food color gel randomly onto the fondant.
Roll the fondant into a ball and then flatten it slightly to form a disc.
Fold the fondant over itself a few times to create a marbled pattern.
Use a rolling pin to roll out the fondant to the size needed to cover the cake. Roll in different directions to maintain the marbled design.
Lift the rolled-out fondant using the rolling pin and drape it over the iced cake. Gently smooth the fondant over the cake's surface, working from the center outward to avoid air bubbles.
Use a fondant smoother to remove any air bubbles and ensure a smooth surface.
Trim excess fondant around the base of the cake with a sharp knife or fondant cutter.
Smooth the edges of the fondant against the sides of the cake to create a seamless finish.
Step back and admire the beautiful marble effect created by the random distribution of blue, pink, and purple colors.
Make Pastel Chocolate Buttons:
Use a button assortment chocolate mold.
Melt white candy melts and color them in pastel shades using oil-based candy colors.
Pour the colored candy into the mold and let it set.
Once set, remove the buttons from the mold and spray them with jewel dust.
Outline Heart Shape:
Use a heart-shaped cookie cutter as a template or freehand a heart to the side of the cake
Gently press the heart cookie cutter into the side of the fondant to create an outline. Do not puncture throught the fondant.
Create Shell Border:
Outline the heart shape by piping a buttercream shell border around it.
Attach Candy Buttons:
Use melted candy coating to attach the pastel chocolate buttons inside the heart-shaped template.
Pipe Spiral Border on Top:
Use a 1M tip to pipe a spiral border on top of the cake.
Add Sprinkles and Candy Pearls:
Immediately after piping the spiral border, top it with sprinkles and candy pearls before the buttercream crusts over.
This detailed process results in a beautifully decorated cake with a tie-dye effect, a heart-shaped candy button feature, and a spiral border adorned with sprinkles and candy pearls. Enjoy creating this delicious and visually stunning dessert!
