Recipe for Whipped Fruit Filling

Icing fruit is a concentrated fruit paste or gel used to flavor and color icings, fillings, and other confections. Made from real fruit, it delivers intense natural flavor and vibrant color without changing the icing's consistency. Available in flavors like strawberry, raspberry, blueberry,orange and lemon, icing fruit adds rich, authentic taste to your baked goods. Ingredients

  • 5 tablesppons flour
  • 1 1/4 cup milk
  • 1 stick butter
  • 1/2 cup high ration shortening
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 tablespoon icing fruit per 1 cup of icing

Instructions

Put the flour into a saucepan. Gradually add the milk. Cook over medium to high heat, stirring constantly until thickened. Pour mixture through strainer to be sure there are no lumps. Cool.

Whip the butter, shortening and sugar together. Then whip in cooled flour/milk mixture. Add vanilla and beat on high until fluffy. Recipe produces a white icing. (7-10 minutes) Fold in 1 tablespoons Icing fruit per 1 cup of whipped icing.
