Ingredients
- 1/4 cup butter
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup molasses
- 2 1/2 to 3 cups flour sifted
- 3/4 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon ginger
- 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1/3 cup water
Instructions
Blend butter and brown sugar until creamy. Beat in the molasses. Add 1 cup flour, baking soda, cinnamon, ginger and nutmeg and blend. Add the remaining flour alternately with 1/3 cup water. It may be necessary to knead the last cup of flour by hand as the dough will be very stiff. Form the dough into a ball and cover with plastic wrap. Bake at 350 degrees until done. *Note- This dough works best when used immediately.
