Repeat this step until each cavity of the mold has been covered.

Next, add in some random squiggles of buttercream- there should still be plenty of room in the mold at this point. This is just to help fill in any small gaps.

Add a small dollop of raspberry pastry filling to the center of each cavity.

Pipe a dam of buttercream around the pastry filling to help prevent any of the filling from seeping out of dome of frosting.

Very gently press cupcakes into each cavity. You want to make sure they adhere well enough to stick, but if you press too hard, the brain pattern you piped could be smushed.

Place the mold with the cupcakes on a cookie sheet & freeze for atleast 30 minutes.
After 30 minutes, carefully remove the cupcakes to reveal the brain pattern!

If desired, brush on watered-down raspberry pastry filling using food-safe brush.
Make sure to complete this step while the buttercream is still cold so the brush does not dent the frosting.
