Instructions
Begin by mixing the buttercream at a low speed for smooth and easy piping.
Divide the buttercream into four separate bowls. Leave one portion white, and color the others red, light blue, and dark blue using food coloring.
Prepare piping bags fitted with various piping tips, depending on the designs you'd like to create. We used tips 2D, 1M, 32, 22, 12, and 10.
Start decorating the sheet cake by piping the white buttercream using the largest piping tip, such as the 2D tip, to create rosettes randomly across the cake.
After piping the white rosettes, use the remaining colored buttercreams to create more rosettes, dollops and ribbons around the cake, alternating between the white, red, light blue, and dark blue buttercream.
Continue piping until the entire cake is covered completely with a beautiful array of rosettes, dollops, and ribbons in patriotic red, white, and blue colors.
Add a sprinkle mix, strategically placing the pearls and stars and the jimmies fall where they may. Dust the cake with some jewel dust for added sparkle.
