Black & Gold Graduation Cake Pops Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1 Batch Cake Pop Dough
  • White Candy Melts
  • Black Candy Melts
  • Gold Sprinkles
  • Black Sprinkles
  • Diploma Royal Icing Decoration
  • Cake Pop Sticks
  • Color Solution
  • Gold Dust

Instructions

Preparing your Cake Pops

Begin by molding your cake pops into round balls.

Graduation Hat Cake Pop

For this cake pop you will start by dipping your cake pop in white chocolate. Allow to set before moving onto the next step. While your cake pop is setting you can prepare the graduation hat in the mold.
Fill the mold cavity with black chocolate. Place in the freezer for 5 minutes to set.

Prepare the gold paint by adding a few drops of color solution and about a ¼ teaspoon of gold luster dust.
Bring the molds out of the freezer & remove the chocolate pieces.
Paint the tassel with the gold paint prepared earlier.

Next, take your white dipped cake pop and dip it halfway in the black chocolate. Immediately take your prepared graduation hat chocolate piece and place on top hold it in place for a few seconds until the chocolate sets. Place completed cake pop on a cake pop stand to set up.

Sprinkle Cake Pop

For this cake pop you will dip your cake pop in the black chocolate. Allow cake pop to set before moving on to the next step.
Prepare a bag of white chocolate in a tipless piping bag. Once cake pop is set, hold cake pop horizontally and pipe the white chocolate in a sweeping motion across the cake pop. Immediately shake the gold sprinkles over the cake pop. The sprinkles will then stick to the drizzled part of the cake pop. Place your completed cake pop in the cake pop stand to completely set up.

Diploma Cake Pop

Prepare a bag of white chocolate in a tipless piping bag. Hold the cake pop horizontally and drizzle the white chocolate over the cake pop in a sweeping motion. Pick up your diploma royal icing decoration and place it on the front side of the cake pop. Hold in place for a few seconds until it sets.

If desired, use the same gold paint made previously to paint the yellow details.
Place your completed cake pop in the cake pop stand to set up.

Class of 2024 Cake Pop

For this cake pop you will dip it in white chocolate and immediately add on your black and gold sprinkles to the top. Place it in the cake pop stand to set as you prepare the chocolate numbers.
Melt black candy melts in a tipless bag. Snip off the end of the bag & pipe the melted chocolate into our number mold. Tap the mold to help settle the chocolate & remove any air bubbles. Remove any excess chocolate using an angled spatula.Freeze the mold for 10-15 minutes.

Once your numbers are set use the white chocolate that is in the tipless bag to attach the numbers. Hold your cake pop horizontally and drizzle the white chocolate over the cake pop. Immediately adhere the numbers to the front of the cake pop. Hold in place until set. Then move your cake pop to the cake pop stand.

Once all cake pops have been made you can package them in a cello bag or use a cake pop stand to display your graduation cake pops. Have fun making these cake pops for your next graduation party.
