  • Apple Pie Super-Strength Flavor
  • Paramount Crystals
  • Aspen Mulling Spices - Caramel Apple Spice Blend
  • White Chocolate Melts
  • Avocado 100% Edible Confectionery Paint
  • Brown 100% Edible Confectionery Paint
  • Super Shine Confectionery Paint

Instructions

Prepare the Red Candy Coating:
Melt the red candy coating in the microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring in between until melted.
Once melted, add ¼ tsp of Lorann apple pie flavoring. Since this flavoring is not oil-based, add some paramount crystals and carefully microwave.
Stir well until the coating is fluid.
Add a small amount of red oil-based candy color to deepen the red.
Fill the Mold:
Fill one cavity of the apple chocolate mold and tap to release any air bubbles.
Invert the mold over the bowl of melted chocolate and gently shake to remove excess chocolate.
Clean up the edges of the mold with a spatula.
Repeat for the second half of the mold.
Chill the Mold:
Place the mold in the refrigerator for 15-20 minutes or until the mold is cloudy and the chocolate has set.
Add Stability:
Once the chocolate has set, add another layer of chocolate to the top edge of each cavity to provide stability to the apple.
Allow the chocolate to set up before removing it from the mold.
Assemble the Apple:
To remove, invert the mold over a piece of parchment and gently tap the mold to release the apple. If needed, refrigerate for 10 minutes and try again.
Heat a plate in the microwave for 30 seconds, then smooth the edge of the apple on the warmed plate.
Measure 2 tablespoons of caramel apple spice blend and smooth it onto one half of the apple.
Smooth the second half on the warmed plate and attach it to the bottom half of the apple to secure.
Prepare the Leaves:
Fill a tipless bag with white candy coating and melt it in the microwave using 20-second intervals.
Use it to fill the leaf sections of the mold. Tap to release air bubbles and place in the refrigerator for 15-20 minutes until set.
Remove from the mold and smooth the back side of each leaf on a warmed plate and attach them together.
Paint the Leaves:
Cover a paint tray with plastic wrap for easy clean up.
Add green and brown poppy paints to the cavities and use them to paint the apple leaf. Allow one side to dry before painting the other side.
Once the paint is dry, paint both sides with super shine. Allow the first side to dry for 10 minutes before brushing on the other side.
Attach the Stem:
Attach the stem with some melted red candy coating. Use tools to hold the stem in place while it sets up.
Serve:
To serve, measure one cup of milk or half and half and microwave it for 1-2 minutes until it just begins to boil.
Place the apple cider bomb in the hot milk and stir until the apple is melted and all the powdered cider is incorporated.
Enjoy your Apple Cider Ball!
